Veronicastrum virginicum
Common name: Culver's Root
Culver's Root is an excellent plant to add both height and texture to the landscape. Collections of narrow flower spikes produce bright white flowers from early to mid summer and last about a month. Deadheading can extend blooming period. Leaves are lance-shape and whorled about the stem. Although this plant can tolerate some shade, it has a tendency to flop over if too shaded. Flowers are visited by a number of bees and butterflies.
