Symphyotrichum oolentangiense
Common name: Sky Blue Aster
Native plant
Sky Blue Aster has abundant light blue to light purple flowers that occur in branched, sprawling clusters at the terminal end of the plant. As with all asters, it blooms late summer to early fall, lasts for about 1 month, and attracts a wide range of bees, butterflies and other pollinators looking for their last bit of nectar and pollen for the season. Being drought tolerant, this plant does well in drier soils.
