Solidago speciosa
Common name: Showy Goldenrod
Showy Goldenrod produces an abundance of tiny yellow flowers arranged in large, lance-shaped panicles that are up to a foot long. This is one of the few goldenrods with a fully upright blooming stalk. Most fall to the side or droop downward. As with all goldenrods, it blooms late summer to early fall, lasts for about a month, and attracts a wide range of bees, butterflies and other pollinators looking for their last bit of nectar and pollen for the season.
