Common name: Early Goldenrod

Native plant

TheĀ earliest blooming of the goldenrod in almost any habitat in Illinois. Can be locally assertive but rarely aggressive under normal conditions. An outstanding butterfly host plant as well as a pollentor lunch counter. Look for some beautiful caterpilars starting in June.
