Solidago juncea

Common name: Early Goldenrod

Native plant

TheĀ earliest blooming of the goldenrods in almost any habitat in Illinois. It can be locally assertive but rarely aggressive under normal conditions. An outstanding butterfly host plant as well as a pollinator lunch counter. Look for some beautiful caterpillars starting in June.
