Rudbeckia hirta

Common name: Black-Eyed Susan

Native plant

Black-Eyed Susan is a short lived perennial, often only biennial. It produces an abundance of yellow flowers that bloom early to mid summer for about a month. Its flowers attract a range of bees, butterflies, moths and other pollinators.  This plant will readily reseed and can spread quite aggressively in this manner. Flowers are good cut and used in arrangements.
