Ribes cynosbati
Common name: Eastern Prickly Gooseberry
Native plant
Ribes cynosbati is a native wild currant well suited for drier soils. It prefers partial sun, although excessive shade will reduce blooming and fruit production. As the common name Prickly Gooseberry implies, its fruits are covered in tiny soft spikes, however they are still quite edible and delicious!
