Penstemon grandiflorus
Common name: Large-Flowered Beardtongue
Large-flowered Beardtongue prefers full sun to part shade, dry mesic to dry conditions, and poor soil containing rocky material or sand. This plant grows from 1-3’ and blooms shades of pink to purple flowers in May and June. This is one of the showiest of all Penstemons. Large-flowered Beardtongue is loved by the hummingbirds and bees and is drought tolerant. Other common names include Canterbury Bells, and Wild Foxglove.
