Maianthemum racemosum
Common name: False Solomon's Seal
This 1-3 ft. perennial has arching, unbranched stems. The feathery, creamy-white racemes of flowers borne at the end of the stem distinguish this species from the true Solomon's seals (Polygonatum spp.). Berries ripen to a pink-red in the fall. Prefers partial sun, moist to slightly dry conditions, and a fertile loamy soil with abundant organic material. Will form large colonies under the right conditions.
