Magnolia acuminata
Common name: Cucumbertree Magnolia
More tree-like than other Magnolias, with ascending branches and heights reaching 50 to 60 feet in rich, moist soil. The flowers are not as showy as its brethren. The large flowers’ yellows and greens tend to blend with the foliage. The cones that bear the seed turn a bright pink and hang on the tree until the leaves start to turn a creamy yellow.
