Koeleria macrantha
Common name: June Grass
The most ornamental of the small, dry country grasses. A short grass that seems to shift from dark green to green with silvery highlights depending on the time of year. The flower heads are tight clusters on the ends of very erect stems held high over the plant. Kind of dramatic really. It does require well-drained sites;Â water is a killer with this plant. We have see it used effectively on green roof installments that have shallow media.
