Hierochloe odorata
Common name: Sweet Grass
The botanical moniker of "odorata" means "to be fragrant," and this plant defines it in the physical sense. The sweet, vanilla odor that comes from this plant is spell-binding, just run your hand through it and you’ll see. In nature and your garden it will form dense patches, laying all over itself as if it can’t get enough of the scent. The blades are a light green and somewhat coarse in texture. Plant it in moist areas with full to part-day sun for best results. Oh, and make sure it is in a place where you can enjoy it with your nose!
