Heliopsis helianthoides
Common name: Early Sunflower
This bundle of sunshine puts on quite a show! Bright yellow flowers begin blooming early in the summer and last 2-3 months. Bloom time can be extended by deadheading. Flowers attract a number of bees and butterflies. Plants can become quite tall, but overall height can be reduced by cutting back stems by a third early to mid May.
