Helenium autumnale

Common name: Sneezeweed

Native plant

A late season bloomer, Sneezeweed adds color to the landscape when most plants have wrapped up for the year.  Its large, abundant yellow flowers are a favorite of all sorts of bees.  Plants can be cut back in early June to reduce the need for staking and increase branching and number of blooms.  Great choice for wetter areas of the yard or as a late blooming addition to a prairie or cottage garden.
