Drymocaullis arguta
Common name: Prairie Cinquefoil
The stigma of cinquefoils among gardeners is that they spread throughout areas they may not be wanted. Prairie cinquefoil is different. It tends to form small colonies and stay "home" to some degree. In nature it is normally found in higher quality areas of prairie. The unique look of this plant with its felty leaves and creamy flowers add a comfortable feeling to any natural planting. Plus it doesn't hurt that bees and butterflies love to visit the flowers.
