Diervilla lonicera

Common name: Dwarf Honeysuckle

Native plant

This low, mounding shrub is great for drier sites and well-drained areas in partial shade. Makes nice mass plantings because of it short height and quick growth rate. Flowers, which appear in June are yellow, tube-shaped, and somewhat on the small side. The real color display of this plant comes in the fall. The red, orange, and yellow colors are bright and very welcome in the understory.
