Carex rosea

Common name: Curly-Styled Wood Sedge

Native plant

This is another sedge that is great for savanna and woodland habitats.  It has a clumping growth habit, forming dense mats that fall over from the center as it reaches maximum height.  It is nearly indistiguishable from the Star Sedge (Carex radiata) having slightly more dense seed heads.
