Bromus pubescens
Common name: Woodland Brome
Native plant
Very much like its prairie cousin only much more shade tolerant. Bromes tend to be somewhat silky in appearance, and this one is no exception. Great for woodland slopes and mixed plant communities in lightly shaded areas. If you are looking for a blanket forming grass for shade, this one will not do it, tending to have a more opened and spaced growing arrangement.
