Bouteloua curtipendula
Common name: Sideoats Gramma
A sharp looking grass more at home on sandy and gravel soils but has shown to grow wonderfully on urban sites that are well drained. To enjoy this mid-sided grass to best effect space for it to roam will be needed in sunny areas of the yard. The blooms are one of the more interesting of our local species of grass with the "pretty bits" all hanging to the side of the skipelet. Great in prairie and pollentor garden plantings.Â
