Baptisia bracteata
Common name: Cream Wild Indigo
Shrub-like in appearance, this plant is occassionally branched but has a very wide spread to its stems. Racemes have such a large abundance of cream flowers that they sometimes sprawl across the ground. It is an early bloomer, offering a food source to newly emerging bees in the spring, and it is very showy. Its nectar is a great food source for many insects.
