One of the showiest of the species, Butterfly weed is the most popular milkweed on our list.  It has bright orange, terminal clusters of flowers and lance-shaped, pubescent leaves.  It is drought tolerant, clump forming, and will not move around much in the garden.  It is a host for many pollinators, including Monarchs, Swallowtails, and many species of bees and beetles.
