Asclepias hirtella
Common name: Green Milkweed
Less well known than the others, this milkweed offers a much different look than some of the more common ones. It has thin, lance-shaped leaves and light green umbels of flowers emerging from nodes like little pom poms running up and down the plant. Like all milkweeds, this plant is a host for Monarch caterpillars as well as many other pollinators. Does well in all sun conditions, but will have the most robust growth and flower development in full sun.
