Asclepias exaltata
Common name: Poke Milkweed
Poke Milkweed is a unique milkweed perfect for those who want to help save the monarch but have a bit too much shade for some of the more common varieties. The flowers of this plant hang on long pedicels, leaving the small, claw-like, white to pale purple flowers dangling in loose umbels atop the plant. It is a host for monarch butterflies and is frequently visited by many other butterflies and bees.
