Anemone virginiana
Common name: Tall Thimbleweed
Similar in appearance to Anemone cylindrica, this plant also has single white flowers atop long stalks that emerge from deeply incised leaves. Fruit is slightly smaller, but similar in showy-ness. This plant forms mats that are slow spreading. It is drought tolerant, and its toxic foliage deters herbivory.
