Anemone cylindrica
Common name: Thimbleweed
Single, white flowers sit atop long stems that emerge from deeply incised basal leaves of this plant. Flowers give way to cylindrically-shaped fruit that resembles a thimble, giving this plant its common name. Typically forms mats that spread slowly and fill in nice in the landscape. This plant is drought tolerant, and its toxic foliage typically deters herbivory.
