Ageratina altissima

Common name: White Snakeroot

Native plant

This shade-loving plant is a great choice for an herbaceous addition to the understory.  Its flowers are wispy white bunches.  Blooming occurs in late summer to fall and lasts 2 months in the right conditions.  A great source of attraction for bees, butterflies and moths late in the season.
