Cornelian Cherry Dogwood Cornus masCornelian Cherry is one of the very few non-native european shrubs that I grow.I have grown the shrub for 25 years and have yet to see a spotaneous seedling. I would the plant to be very non-invasive but would also recommend that it be restricted to the home landscape. The plant does well in shade and produces bright yellow flowers in early April. Fall color is a deep maroon. Not tolerant of drought I recommend that it be used in shrub borders and clipped hedge type plantings. It has a supposedly edible fruit.
