Meadowsweet Spiraea albaPlanting in a moist site is a must. The summer flowers make it charming, but it's roots make it a must for erosion control. Found in wet areas, I have frequently seen Meadowsweet in standing water. Does well in good garden soil. The cone-shaped white flower clusters bloom in June. If the plant gets out of control, it can be cut to the ground in March and still bloom on the new wood that year.
