Butterfly Weed Asclepias tuberosaThis is a great plant for the garden but it does not do well in wet sites. Butterfly Weed wakes up late in the spring so be careful not to dig it up. During the 2003 season a Monarch butterfly found our plants in the greenhouse and her progeny nearly devoured the crop. Used by Native Americans and Europeans as food and medicine.
