This tall and graceful milkweed loves moist feet so if you plan on adding it to your garden look for the wettest spot and it will perform well. It is not aggressive. It can sometimes be found in the shade of tall grasses. Swamp milkweed is a very important food source for both Monarch butterflies and caterpillars.
