Jacob's Ladder Polemonium reptansJacob's Ladder is one of those plants that you don't expect in an open savanna. It has a grace about it that sets it apart from surrounding plants. The plant performs best in light shade or half day sun. Jacob’s Ladder flowers in late spring and is visited by many kinds of insects. After flowering it blends into the background. We have found it in a wide variety of habitats but almost always with some form of shade be it from oaks or the tall grasses of the prairie.
