Black Cherry Prunus serotinaBird and butterflies love this plant. One of the few large trees that has highly visible white flowers in the spring. A very fast growing tree at 30-36 inches per year. Produces an abundance of fruit which birds relish. Black cherry should not be planted over a patio or sidewalk due to messy fruit. This tree can be easily identified by its bark, which resembles potato chips! Requires full sun to part sun and almost any soil type will do.
