Jack Pine Pinus banksiana One ugly pine, but it's great for dry and exposed areas. Looks great in groups. Some people believe this is the go-to-heck pine or aesthetically challenged. I like its asymmetrical look. It is a the pine of poor dry sand country. It takes full sun, lots of wind and very cold temperatures. This pine does not do well on poorly drained, heavy clay sites.
