Shingle Oak Quercus imbarcariaLikes disturded soils and holds it leaves until February, makes a great screen. hingle Oak is an uncommon oak but is found in a wide variety of soils (gravel, sand, heavy clay). Requires full sun. Shingle Oak leaves have no lobes or teeth. Fall color can be red-orange but more often is brown. Because the leaves persist until March, Shingle Oak is often used in place of evergreens as a screen.
